Our Story
Hearth & Holler Coffee was born from a simple belief: that a great cup of coffee should be an invitation to pause. Founded in Asheville by two longtime neighbors who wanted a space that felt less like a transaction and more like a living room, we opened our doors at 88 Haywood Road with a wood-fired espresso machine and a stack of worn-in books. The idea wasn't to rush anyone out the door—it was to give folks a reason to stay. We roast our own beans in small batches, pulling from the best seasonal lots we can find, and we bake our hearth breads daily in the same wood-fired oven that heats the café on cool mountain mornings. Our values are written in the details: the ceramic mugs that don't match, the open mic nights that turn strangers into regulars, the drip flights that let you taste three coffees at once without committing to a full cup. We're not trying to be the fastest cafe in town or the trendiest. We're trying to be the one where you can show up at 6:30 AM with a laptop and a half-written novel, or at 5:30 PM with a friend you haven't seen in months. The menu is built around what makes sense in a hearth kitchen—espresso pulled over wood fire, breads that crackle when they come out of the oven, simple food that tastes like it was made for you. What makes us different is that we're not a concept dropped into a neighborhood—we're part of it. We know your name if you come in twice, we remember your order if you come in three times, and we'll save you a spot by the window if you ask. The hours are steady—Monday through Sunday, 6:30 AM to 6 PM—because we believe that consistency matters more than novelty. Whether you're a writer looking for a corner table, a cyclist refueling after a ride up the parkway, or just someone who needs a warm place to sit for a while, Hearth & Holler is here. Give us a call at (828) 555-0123, or just walk in. The door's always open.
